Any gift you give will help
to provide meals and accommodation for a high school youth over the one
year period. You allow youTheology
to continue developing leaders for the church and the world in the
Methodist tradition. High school students are able to experience and learn over
a period of time in a diverse community. They are spiritually formed,
uniting knowledge and vital piety as they learn through word and action
what "Loving God, Loving Neighbor" means. They also learn more about
their traditions in a way that is interesting to them. youTheology helps them to better
understand God's purpose for their lives. Our youth come from the AME,
AMEZ, CME, and UM churches. To date, many of our youth have expressed a
desire to work in ministry in the church. Some are already in seminary.
Many are studying for service-related professions. See below the kinds
of things that youth, parents, mentors, and churches say about youTheology. Give now and become a
part of the youTheology
Current.

interesting to me. I love YT!!!!"

Rev Stacy R. Evans - Pastor
"youTheology is an opportunity to meet new people, go new places, and grow in God in new unexpected ways."
The Rev. Stacy R. Evans was born and raised in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Virginia Overman. She is a native of Kansas City. In the past, she has worked as a journalist and is currently the Pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church in Kansas City, KS, where she continues to learn from the people. She lives by the motto, "We are a church looking for God's face, seeking to serve Him in thought, word, and deed."
She has been involved with young people for a number of years and has worked with and served several youth organizations. She is a former youTheology mentor.
Having been referred by a friend, Rev Evans became committed to the ministry of youTheology and is now a member of its Advisory Board. She continues to serve youTheology because she believes the purpose God created young people for and what they want to do in life are intimately connected. In addition to church and personal experiences, learning more about God from professional people or people with a lot of experience in ministry and teaching can only help them get closer to their purpose and the things they want to do.
Steve & Debby Harvey - Parents
"Youth Optionally United To Have Educational Opportunities Linking Our God's Yearnings"
Youth participating in youTheology have chosen an option to seek God's desires for their lives in 'other-than' traditional learning atmospheres such as the church, Sunday school and/or other youth worship. They purposely and intentionally meet before their actual tour, during the tour and even after the tour, experiencing and re-experiencing opportunities to be disciples of Jesus Christ and for Jesus Christ in the world today . . . things God yearns for.
Steve and Deb Harvey, WaKeeney, were both raised in Western Kansas. Steve grew up on a farm south of Collyer and Deb in retail businesses in Ness City. They met in Colby, Kansas, in 1981, where Deb was employed by the County Attorney, and Steve, returning home from Germany, U.S. Army Military Police, was hired by the Colby Police Department.
Steve and Deb were married in 1982, and had two daughters, Rebecca Jean, 'Becky,' born in 1984 and Dona Jo, born in 1988. Moving from Colby to LaCrosse in 1989, then to WaKeeney in 1992, Steve from local police department to the Kansas Highway Patrol, and Deb from the attorney's office to the pulpit, Deb, and Steve call WaKeeney home, however they are still on the road. Physically and spiritually! This year Steve will celebrate his 20th year with the Kansas Highway Patrol and Deb her second year of full-time ministry, fifth year as local licensed pastor.
Our lives have been truly blessed, and we give God the thanks for every bit of it. We believe the youTheology program was, and continues to be, an exceptional opportunity for youth to be united in Christian fellowship seeking God's desires for their lives.
